Belvedere Cafe Restaurant
If you’re wandering down Newtownards Road in Belfast and craving a breakfast that hits all the right notes, Belvedere Cafe Restaurant might just be your next go-to. Nestled at 395 Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT4 1RH, this women-owned gem has built a loyal following with its inviting vibe, varied menu, and focus on quality. Whether you're a fan of classic English breakfast or more into modern brunch options like Avocado Poached Eggs, there’s a plate here with your name on it.
Let’s start with what makes the Belvedere Cafe Restaurant really stand out: its dedication to the brunch culture. The Eggs Benedict is a fan favorite-perfectly poached eggs perched on soft English muffins, drenched in a velvety hollandaise sauce. For those leaning toward a plant-based option, the Harrissa Chickpea and Halloumi Salad adds a spicy twist to your midday meal, striking a satisfying balance between health and flavor.
If you’re stopping by for a quick bite, the Sweet Chilli Chicken Fried and Vegetarian Grill serve up something both hearty and comforting. Their Small Fry is a tidy package of breakfast essentials-ideal for those who want it all but in manageable portions. And if you're swinging by on a Sunday, don’t miss their Sunday Roast or the Huevos Rotos; both are staples that locals swear by for a cozy, filling meal that doesn’t cut corners on taste.
Accessibility is another area where Belvedere gets it right. The restaurant offers wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet, which makes it a welcoming spot for everyone. It’s also a popular pick for solo diners, especially those who enjoy a peaceful moment with a great cup of coffee or tea. Speaking of drinks, the tea selection is surprisingly broad-ideal for those who like to pair their meals with something aromatic and soothing. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet, their dessert options are not just an afterthought. Think syrup-drenched pancakes, possibly with a drizzle of maple syrup, and rich homemade cakes that elevate your café experience from ordinary to memorable.
Outdoor seating? Absolutely. On sunnier days, the outdoor service is a major draw. There's something about sipping a latte while people-watching on the Newtownards Road that makes you feel like you’ve found your own little corner of calm in the city.
It’s also worth noting that Belvedere Cafe Restaurant doesn’t offer delivery. That might seem like a downside in the age of convenience, but it also means they focus all their energy on creating a stellar dine-in and takeaway experience. Every dish feels like it was made with care, and the staff is genuinely welcoming-something you don’t always find in more commercialized café chains.
There’s a charm here that’s hard to put into words. Maybe it’s the warm, cozy interior, maybe it’s the consistency in quality, or maybe it’s the way your poached eggs always come out just the way you like them. Either way, it’s clear that Belvedere Cafe Restaurant doesn’t try to be trendy-it simply focuses on being good, and it succeeds.

First time trying this cafe and loved it, beautifully decorated and staff were very friendly. Between us we had pancakes, French toast and a scone with jam and cream and it was delicious will definitely visit again.
As a regular visitor to this fabulous little gem, I cannot find fault in anyway. Menu - lots of tasty choices, good price Staff - attentive, friendly, professional Location - quirky, well decorated, vibrant One of the very few places in the city that’s properly dog friendly as opposed to “dog tolerant” If you haven’t tried here yet then I’d suggest getting some and giving it a go, but if you turn up at a busy time you may have a short wait ahead - but this is a good thing, would you rather go to a place with nobody in it - the place speaks for itself. Highly recommended
Great food and choice in east Belfast. Especially breakfast and coffee. Refurbed to a high standard by a lady owner with years of experience.
I've been in the new place a few times since the reopening in the new location, and I can say the food was excellent every time both personally and with a couple of business lunches we had. The service was excellent, the staff never far away to grab their attention when needed and it seems to be a better atmosphere than previous visits (some staff seem missing). The staff are great craic and the owner is really nice which makes the experience even better. Keep doing what you're doing guy's, we'll be back more often now. Thank you
Delicious food. Excellent soup and their freshly made sandwiches are well filled and tasty! Coffees lovely too. Modern decor bright. Nice place to dine. Definitely will vist again.
